1. Your name: Jessica Kent
2. What years were you at Miller South? 1998-2001
3. Your most memorable moment as a MS drama student:
Humm..I don't know, everything was so fun, so memorable.
I love building sets (even though David Magnus dropped the super tall Dr. Doolittle Set on me). I loved acting and the rush of performing. I guess the work I am most proud of was lights for "Poe". The Tempest was a great memory because it seemed so professional. I think I loved it all but it went too fast!
4. What are you doing now? I am an I.B. student at Firestone. I am actually taking a lot of visual art classes and working tech.
5. Have you continued doing theatre?
Yes, Mr. Zimmerman is way cool but no one beats Wendy!
6. If so, what are some of the plays you have been in or worked on since MS? "The Pajama Game" (FHS), "The Wiz" (FHS and Weathervane), "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Coat" (Weathervane), and "Annie Get Your Gun" (I worked on the set)
7. Your favorite memory of the fake rock:
This is really stupid but...what fake rock? (sorry I don't remember)
8. What was your favorite role (on state, in commedia, or back stage) at MS?
I loved commedia in the sixth grade but unfortunatly didn't continue it. I enjoyed the stage but I guess I had more talent backstage. I absolutely love doiong lights.
9. Is there any advice you have for present and future students?
Yes, pay attention in tech class; I know those tests are rediculously hard but if you can get something out of that class it will pay off big. Grab every drama opportunity possible even if it envolves embarrasment. Lastly if Wendy asks you to make armor out of pop can tabs, just do it, don't waste time ask stupid questions.
10. Do you have anything else to share with us?
I dunno, I guess while I was at MS I complained and whined a lot but now I really miss it. I kept saying I can't wait to go to High School but now I want to go back. I guess I feel like I missed out on a lot of theatre things cause I was so self-concious, especially in 6th grade. Now I think I'm so daring and out-going. If I could go back I would have been in every play somehow.
