All former drama students were sent a survey that was to be filled out and returned to MIller South.  The results are going to be posted here and hopefully presented or displayed at DramaRama on April 11th and 12th.  We hope to see you there and remember to send in your survey!

When I was an emcee for the "Broadway Revue" that was one of my favorite roles.
4.  What are you doing now?
I'm in high school and also taking some collage classes.
5.  Have you continued doing theatre? No, I'm focusing on my academics.

7.  Your favorite memory of the fake rock is...
When someone sat on the rock and the top sank in.  It needed a facelift after that.
8.  What was your favorite role (on state, in commedia, or back stage) at MS?
They were all so much fun but I think what I mentioned in #3 was my favorite.
9.  Is there any advice you have for present and future students?
Take advantage of everything you are offered at Miller South.  This school is so wonderful and you may not think it now but when you leave you'll miss it so much.

When we had an emotion test and Ryan Brown said weep, weep, sarrow.
4.  What are you doing now?
Finishing high school.  I'm in 12th grade.
5.  Have you continued doing theatre?
Not as much as I would have liked to.

Have fun while it lasts, don't take youthfulness for granted.  It's all gone before you know it!
10. Do you have anything else to share with us?  Don't let anyone convince you to do anything you really don't want to do.  Always be your own person, but allow for change.


1. Your name:  Katie Baker
2. What years were you at Miller South?  1994-1997 (6th-8th grades)
3. Your most memorable moment as a M.S. drama student?  I think my favorite memory was not so much in classbut my Odyssey of the Mind team.  We had a great skit and my team was comprised of all of my best friends.
4. What are you doing now?  Playing softball at and attending Kent State University
5. Have you continued doing theatre?  No
6. If so, what are some of the plays you have been in or worked on since M.S?
7. Your favorite memory of the fake rock is?  Well my class built it, so I am just glad that it has lasted so long and created so many memories for the classes behind us.
8. What was your favorite role (on stage, in commedia, or back stage) at Miller South?  My favorite shows to work backstage were Schoolhouse Rock Live and The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.
9. Is there any advice you have for present and future drama students?  Enjoy it while you have it.  I still to this day talk about my experiences at Miller South.  They were some of the best years of my life and I will never forget the friends I made or the memories we shared!

3.  Your most memorable moment as a MS drama student
   All of the classes that took place in the little theatre. We had a lot of fun working on new material and getting to know all of the students in our class.

   I am now a musical theatre freshman at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA
5.  Have you continued doing theatre
   Yes, I am currently the only freshman girl in my school's spring season

   I have worked on  Carousel, Romeo and Juliet,She Loves Me, Love's Labours Lost, The Amen Corner, The Fantasticks, On Strivers Row, Dear Gabby, The Pajama Game, Midsummer's Night's Dream, Babes in Arms, Schoolhouse Rock Live Jr. and now a Celebration for my school that is an original.
7.  Your favorite memory of the fake rock is...
   Throwing it at people and seeing how they reacted to it.

    My favorite on stage role was Schoolhouse Rock Live
    My favorite back stage role was  assisting the director on Steal Away Home
9.  Is there any advice you have for present and future students
   Take what you are doing now seriously but don't forget to have as much fun as you can. What you do in class right now will affect who you become in the future. You won't see it now  and maybe not even after high school but definatly in college and the memories will stay with you forever.
10. Do you have anything else to share with us
    Have fun and take risks acting wise. And come see my show in Cedar Point this summer. It's in the main auditorium starting in June.

2.  What years were you at Miller South? 1997-1999
3.  Your most memorable moment as a MS drama student
When that professional drama troupe gave us a few acting lessons.  Example: I had to "become" a marker.  We had to personify inanimate objects.
4.  What are you doing now? I'm working, finishing up high school, and establishing myself as a poet.  I have three poems published.
5.  Have you continued doing theatre?  Unfortunately no, just a skit or two but nothing big.

On stage when we did acting exercises, backstage for actual plays.
9.  Is there any advice you have for present and future students? Don't be afraid to use your talent.  The more ya use it, the more your talent will develop and the better you'll be.

Crystal Cook

1.) I attended Miller South from 1995-1997
2.) My most memorable moment was when I fell out of a fold up chair when doing a pantomime act at Chapel Hill Mall for the disabled. Even the blind people laughed at me.
3.)Now I am attending Kent State University majoring in political science with a concentration in public policy and a minor in pre-law.  In the fall I will be interning with the Civil Rights Coalition for the state of Ohio in Columbus.
4.) I have continued theater a little.
5.) I worked backstage for various plays in high school (Firestone). I also have participated on and off stage at the Kent Community Theater.
6.) My favorite role at Miller South was Mrs.Hudson in Sherlock Holmes
7.) My advice to present and future drama students is that if you have a passion for theater then I encourage you to pursue it but if you lack that passion and drive then you need to start searching for it elsewhere.
8.) Although I did not fully pursue theater it has proved to be beneficial to me. My acting skills will definately be an asset in the courtroom.

All of my memories are of the commedia troupe!  Dottore was so much fun!
4.  What are you doing now? I am in the FHS Drama Program and I'm looking at colleges.  We just finished "Annie Get your Gun" so I'm not doing too much.
5.  Have you continued doing theatre? Yes, definetly!
6.  If so, what are some of the plays you have been in or worked on since MS?
"The Man Who Came to Dinner", "Annie Get Your Gun", "A Midsummer Night's Dream"
7.  Your favorite memory of the fake rock is...  Using it for EVERYTHING!  From 8th grade when it was used as a part of the ship in the Odyssey, to 8th grade when we used it in ALL of out directing projects.  I LOVE THAT ROCK!

I loved playing Dottore in commedia and I also love playing Blossom, the circus manager  in "Doctor Doolittle" and I remember Yankee Doodle was a blast.  Papagaeno was GREAT too.  It's hard to pick.
9.  Is there any advice you have for present and future students? Enjoy every bit of Miller South you can! It serriously shaped who I am today.  It is a place where you can grow and be who you are and after you leave there's a sence of security.  Just cherish it!
10. Do you have anything else to share with us?  I love Miller South.  It's an amazing place and I wih I could rewind time and do it all over again from the fourth grade on, not just 6th.
